The beef between Drake and Meek Mill went from 0-100 quick after Drake fired back at Meek with two diss tracks in a row before Meek finally delivered a response that fell short in comparison. It seemed to die off quickly after that when Meek took to Instagram to basically say he was bowing out of the feud. Since then, it seemed like it may just be dirt under the rug between the two rappers.
However, last night Drake joined J. Cole on stage as a surprise guest on the final stop of the Forest Hills Drive Tour in J. Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Video from Drake’s set has made its way to the internet today and the surprisingly good quality recording shows Drake performing some unheard bars. After performing “Know Yourself,” Drake shared some kind words about J. Cole and some feelings about phoniness in the game before spitting the new lyrics a capella.
“So much legal action like I’m Michael Jackson
Luckily I’m great at avoiding distractions
I used to give no reaction, now I’m overreacting”
He spit the lyrics before transitioning into a performance of “Back to Back,” the second of the two response tracks that he fired at Meek Mill that seemed to ultimately put the nail in the coffin last month. Is the beef still on? Sure seems like it.
